Dr Morne Williams and Dr Wayne Carolissen are the founding members of WeCare Dental Surgery, Peterborough.
We decided on a fully digital workflow and wanted to add all the technology at once – we do not believe in half measures! Our first introduction to digital technology was a digital intraoral scanner and milling machine system. We immediately saw the benefits of digital scanning compared to traditional impression-taking methods – which patients often dislike.
We chose the Planmeca ProMax 3D CBCT as it uses ultra-low dosages, which is not just important for our patients, but also for ease of use. The Planmeca Compact™ i5 dental units were chosen because they are extremely comfortable, with memory foam seats and leg breaks. These make the units look less intimidating to nervous patients, as it looks like a “normal” chair.
We are really happy with the way in which this project developed, and how it has maximized our digital capabilities. We are proud of ourselves and our team in how we overcame any difficulties and persevered to create an amazing environment for our patients. In hindsight, there is nothing we would have done differently.
